PLAN YOUR GARDEN: HOW CAN YOU GROW AS MUCH OF YOUR FOOD AS POSSIBLE?
Do you have a yard you could convert to more food-growing use? Is there a community garden you can be part of? What kind of supports do you need -- for example, do you need to build a fence to keep the deer from getting all the goodies? Can you grow food on your deck? If you haven't grown much in the past, how can you start small? Hint: Farmers' Markets provide lots of "starter" plants. Hint: Some seed companies are GMO free.
As for our gardens ... We definitely need to build a fenced-in area this year. I want to plant more blueberry bushes, to try and grow enough blueberries to last the year. Also, with the new community root cellar on its way, time to grow enough root vegetables to last the year!
